We’re so excited to have opened our first ever store outside of London and to have achieved a Gold Star SKA rating for its sustainable fitout.
UPCYCLED MATERIALS
Approx 60% of our furniture was upcycled from other sites, while the new loose seating was upholstered with fabric made from 100% recycled plastic bottle waste.
Our fixed bench seating seat pads were upholstered in vinyl with 100% sustainable silicone. The neon and hanging signs were all reused from closed sites.
FORESSO
Made from waste wood, they only use timber that comes from city maintenance, local sawmills, or even building sites.
They use a non-toxic and formaldehyde free binder glue to stick everything together. Developed in-house and is a unique water based formulation.
Their focus has always been on creating new circular economies rather than diverting waste from existing recycling efforts.
OSB (Wall Cladding)
Unlike some other building materials OSB is very sustainable and good for the environment.
OSBs are considered sustainable as they are made from strands of wood which come from small trees that come from sustainably managed forests.
TIMBERS
All timbers are FSC (Forest Management Certification).
FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability.
FSC-certified forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
Local Handpainted Artwall
We worked with with born and bred local artist Ray McGrother who has created the beautiful artwork on our walls.
Ray currently studies at The University of Reading.
